A fun one-day tour for classic cars that starts and finishes at the base of the mountain.

  • Classic cars only.
  • VSCCA members and friends welcome.
  • Detailed route maps will be provided.
  • All registered drivers and their guests will receive complementary T-shirts thanks to Gaswerks Garage.
  • The route will easily get you back to Mount Equinox before the 4:30 PM First Time Participant Orientation.

  • Drivers' meeting at 10:00 AM at the base of Mt. Equinox.
  • 10:30 AM departure.
  • Return in the afternoon to Mt. Equinox to take in a drive or more up the mountain.

Mt. Equinox Hill Climb

HILL CLIMB - 75th Anniversary!

Saturday & Sunday, August 9-10, 2025

A five-mile, adult roller coaster that climbs 3200 feet. With a newly repaved full course over five miles in length, this is the quintessential VSCCA event, a must if you have not done it.

  • This event sells out quickly.
  • VSCCA members only.
  • Cars do not have to have a VSCCA log book but the Event Chair will approve non-logbook cars on a case by case basis and may accept appropriate cars through 1973. (1973 is used as a cutoff as the SCCA ran the event until then.)
  • We will have the traditional Friday night reception and the Saturday night dinner at the charming Arlington Inn.

Lime Rock Park Historic Festival

  • A fun one-day tour for classic cars.
  • We ask for a suggested $5 donation to cover refreshments and incidentals.
  • Food and drink available for purchase.

The tour will start with breakfast & brews at the Audrain Museum Cars & Coffee at Second Beach, also known as Sachuest Beach, located at 315 Sachuest Point Road, Middletown, RI 02842. The tour will head over Newport Bridge to Jamestown, and down to scenic Beavertail, at the southern tip of the island. From there the tour will do a loop of the northern end of Jamestown and cross Jamestown Bridge to some fun back roads through S. Kingstown and Charlestown.

 

We'll end the tour at Sons of Liberty Spirits in South Kingstown, RI where food and drink will be available for purchase. They produce amazing non-alcoholic drinks for those driving. (The VSCCA recommends no driving after adult beverages.)

Tentative schedule:

  • Starting at 8:00 AM: Meet in the designated VSCCA area at the Audrain Museum Cars & Coffee and enjoy breakfast available for purchase. Take in the wide variety of cars that attend these C&Cs.
  • 10:00 AM sharp: Drivers meeting at location to be advised.
  • 10:15 AM as sharp as possible: Depart for drive.
  • Approximately 10:45, a stop for bantering, walking, and photos at Beavertail State Park in Jamestown.
  • Approximately 11:45, continue drive through Jamestown and over to the back roads of S. Kingstown and Charlestown.
  • Around 1:00-1:15 PM: Lunch at Sons of Liberty Spirits, 1425 Kingstown Road, South Kingstown, RI 02879. Food and drink for purchase.

If you plan on trailering your classic:

  • from Massachusetts or New Hampshire, and want to drop the trailer, contact Erik Thomas, 401-924-2030 nc76220@aol.com, who has offered to store trailers at his place in Little Compton RI.
  • If you are coming from Connecticut, NY, or points west, you can drop at the Shields place in Kingston RI, 5 minutes from Sons of Liberty. Bill is at 610 717-8640 wjshields55@yahoo.com.



Fall Finale - The Litchfield Cup

A great way to end your track season will be the Fall Finale where we again will hold the Litchfield Cup featuring the Commonwealth vs. the Rest of the World. If you enter a car in another Fall Finale class your Pre-War entry, made prior to 1941, will be free!

  • NEW & MANDATORY: Wear at least one garment or accessory from the period of your race car! Outrageous prizes on the line.
  • Run concurrently with the VSCCA Preservation Group on Saturday. (See separate listing.)
  • Save $50 by entering before September 11th!

Preservation at Fall Finale

Our Saturday Preservation track-day group has come of age. Following the hugely popular showing at the 2024 Fall Finale, we're back with more.

  • NEW & MANDATORY: Wear at least one garment or accessory from the period of your race car! Outrageous prizes on the line.
  • Save $50 by entering by April 18th!
  • This is a muffled event.
  • VSCCA Members only.

  • At least three 20-minute sessions Saturday afternoon.
  • Optionally join us for the Friday Warmup Tour that starts and ends in the paddocks. Details in another box. This tour tour is separate from Preservation and requires a separate registration.

Prewar Rally

Low key and easy going, this will be a great way to get your pre-war car some exercise in the midst of some stellar company! Entry fee includes a box lunch.


This tour is primarily for pre-war sports and touring cars, some post war cars may be allowed at the discretion of the organizing committee.


The 26th Nutmeg Rally

GIMMICK RALLY

The 26th edition is being developed as this is written. This being a "gimmick rally," you should honestly have no trouble staying on course.


The objective is to observe your surroundings while on the road and to answer questions, both "simple" and - some have argued - "diabolical."

VSCCA Annual General Meeting

MEETING

  • 10:00 AM for coffee, tea, juice, bagels etc.
  • 10:30 AM AGM until 12:30 PM when we open the door for brunch.

We will review the ’25 season, preview our ’26 schedule, have our annual awards and more. This is great opportunity to share your thoughts on the club with the board. Refreshments will be served with the Frank Righetti Memorial Brunch immediately following.

  • Guests attending the brunch, but not the earlier meeting will have many options to while away the time.
  • We'll have a raffle for available Permanent numbers and a silent auction for books and memorabilia (no magazines, thanks). Please bring what you’d like to donate.
